MR A&U will build the Netherlands very first Maggie’s Centre

Since 1996 Maggie’s Centers have been traditionally built in the United Kingdom, but now Marlies Rohmer Architects & Urbanists and Piet Oudolf have both been selected to build the Netherlands’ very first Maggie’s Center in Groningen. The Maggie’s Centre functions as a place where cancer patients receive support, information and practical advice. Maggie was the wife of architecture critic and landscape architect Charles Jencks, who remains deeply involved with the Centers. Previous Centers have been built by firms such as OMA, Zaha Hadid and Frank Gehry.

Selected for high school 'Vossius'!

Marlies Rohmer Architects & Urbanists is proud to have won the tender for high school ‘Vossius gymnasium’, located in a monumental building in the centre of Amsterdam. New underground gymnasia will be built to serve the school but also various organizations during evenings and weekends. In addition, the internal climate conditions will also be enhanced as part of the improvements. This new space will not only extend the existing educational facilities, but provide the school new impetus.
