Marlies Rohmer at “Van Eesteren Gesprek”

Amsterdam, February 2019
On February 26th Marlies Rohmer will participate in the Van Eesteren Gesprek ‘Architect of Actietect’ (Architect or Actiontect). The evening will revolve around the works of Van Eyck, especially the way in which he aimed to use his designs to spark interaction and play. Both Peter Beek (human movement scientist) and Marlies Rohmer will illustrate and explore the efficacy of the interaction intended by Van Eyck.
The event will start at 20:00, entrance is free (with ticket).

Tile project Vossius Gymnasium Amsterdam

Amsterdam, February 2019
Students of the Vossius Gymnasium in Amsterdam have gotten the unique opportunity to contribute to the design of the new facade of their school building in Amsterdam. Guided by artist Bien van Heek and arts & crafts teacher Lieke Lonnissen the students have painted foxes on tiles, which will be incorporated in the facade of the monumental building.

 

Water Dwellings exhibited in Beijing

Amsterdam, January 2019
Ever since its completion in 2011, the project Water Dwellings in IJburg has gained international attention. From september to december 2018, in light of the Beijing International Design Week, the project has been exhibited in 798 art area at the exhibition ‘Urban Spirit: Contemporary Public Design Archives’. The exhibition, visited by more than 30.000 people, centered around projects that provide sustainable solutions for the challenges faced by the cities of today.
